Artist's Profile

Anne ran an international interior design company for 20 years and, on retiring, having for many years carried out portraits in oils, she enrolled at Putney Art College to take up a Diploma in Fine Art. Whilst there, she discovered 3D and went on to do first, a Foundation at Kingston, followed by a BA(Hons.) in Fine Art Sculpture at City and Guilds of London Art School.

Since then she has worked continually in mixed media, using metal, glass, bronze, papier-mâché, plastic bags and wire etc.
Recycling is important in her work, and whilst her abstract objects tend to be organic in form, her quirky sense of humour appears in her animal forms.

Most of all, she feels that sculpture should be tactile and not put on a pedestal, with a sign saying “do not touch”.

The work she most admires is that of Barbara Hepworth for her simplicity of form, and, Louise Bourgeois for her incredible imagination.
